Some information about the new generation Abrams tank has emerged.

It is known that AbramsX will have two hatches in the forward part of the hull, which could mean the transfer of some of the crew from the turret. At the same time, there is information that the commander and gunner will remain in the tower, and instead of the mechanical driver, there will be a specialist who controls the reconnaissance aircraft and small kamikaze aircraft.

There is also information that there will be no one in the tower, it will be a fully automatic combat module. It is reported that the main weapon that will be armed with the new generation Abrams will be the KhM-360 cannon, which was tested for the promising XM-1202 machine of the previously closed program “Combat Systems of the Future”.

Additional armament is a 30mm automatic cannon to be mounted on the roof. In addition, there is a paired 7.62 mm machine gun.

It is not yet known whether Abrams’ original engine, a gas turbine, will be modernized or replaced with a more economical diesel or hybrid power plant.
