Google has decided to stop monetizing content that spreads or denies or justifies false information about Russia’s war against Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced this in a Telegram.
“Google stops monetizing content that disseminates or denies or justifies false information about Russia’s war against Ukraine. This also applies to material that denies tragic events,” he said.
He noted that such a decision would greatly affect Russian propagandists. According to Fedorov, YouTube stopped monetizing in Russia on February 26, but Google services continued to work.
It is reported that the USA, European Union and other countries have and continue to impose sanctions on Russia for its extensive occupation of Ukraine. In addition, a number of international companies refused to continue doing business in Russia.
