TikTok has announced new content creation and editing tools, including Photo Mode, a function similar to Instagram that allows sharing carousels of images in the app for mobile devices.

The main feature of the Chinese platform owned by ByteDance is its videos in vertical format. Users can create, edit and broadcast them with music and effects such as filters or augmented reality (AR) features.

Unlike its main competitor, Instagram, this service does not offer static posts, that is, the ability to create photo carousels with individual images or text.

Now, TikTok has announced new improved video editing tools and an image posting format available in the United States and most parts of the world, according to its blog.

As for the editing options, the company notes that you can edit clips and audio, place overlay text and set its duration on the screen, and add photo or image overlays.

On the other hand, TikTok has named Photo Mode (‘Photo Mode’), a new picture carousel format for mobile devices where music can also be added.

Also, the platform announced that you can now add longer descriptions to your videos that can contain up to 2,200 characters of text, this option is also available in photo mode.

With these features, creators have a new way to contextualize their videos, while the company is trying to offer “another space to express themselves and connect with others” with its image carousels.

Finally, he underlined that he will continue to create experiences so that users can create content in different ways with video, photo, text or live video.
