YouTube announced a new feature

YouTube has announced a new Handle feature that allows bloggers to create links to their channels in the form of @username. This was reported by TechCrunch. It is noted that this function will simplify the search for channels on YouTube, since with it it is not necessary to fully enter the names of the creators’ accounts in the search bar.

YouTube will begin rolling out Handles starting next week. Bloggers will be the first to access this functionality. It has not been announced when it will be made available to others. YouTube says Handles will eventually be public.

The company noted that they made a delay between bloggers and others so that the first ones have time to get the corresponding nicknames. Bloggers whose channel links already contain account names are automatically prompted by the platform to use the required names.

TechCrunch believes that YouTube made Handles primarily through the Shorts video format. The company wants to give its users the experience they are already used to on TikTok in this way.
