South Korean manufacturer Samsung has finally responded to the story of the batteries of older Samsung Galaxy series smartphones and said the company has already launched an investigation into the matter.

Famous blogger Mrwhosetheboss, who previously had 11.7 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, noticed that the battery of his Galaxy Note8 was discharged so much that its back cover came off. When he shared the story, various users reported that their Galaxy series mobiles behaved similarly.

Samsung representative Chris Langlois said that the authorities are aware of this and are carefully examining the situation with specific examples. It was also announced that if customers have questions about their Samsung device, they can directly contact the local Samsung customer service representative.

The source added that slight swelling of the battery is not dangerous. This is a precautionary process that mobile phone manufacturers usually consider during the design phase. However, as a result, the integrity of the device case may be compromised and in the future the battery will continue to deflate and may explode.

Mrwhosetheboss estimates that this problem could theoretically affect 250 million people. At the same time, Sammobile and GalaxyClub together tested more than 110 smartphones of the Samsung Galaxy family. The results showed that the batteries did not swell.
