Razer introduced the Edge portable game console designed for cloud gaming. This was reported by Engadget.
The novelty is a tablet with a 6.8-inch OLED display and removable controllers with Razer Kishi V2 physical buttons like those used on the Nintendo Switch. It is stated that the screen also has Full HD + resolution and supports refresh rate up to 144 Hz.
Edge is powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 processor developed by Qualcomm especially for game consoles. In addition, the device was given 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are declared wireless communication modules. In the future, Razer promises to offer a version of the Edge with a 5G module.
The console runs on a modified Android OS and has installed programs to work with streaming gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce Now.
It is stated that the Razer Edge will go on sale in the United States in January 2023 and will be priced at $400.
