Installing eight Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards can crack an eight-digit password in 48 minutes. This is reported by the PC Gamer publication, citing the words of information security expert Sam Crowley.

Crowley noted that the RTX 4090 outperforms previous generation Nvidia graphics cards at least twice when it comes to brute force. At the same time, current AMD Radeon RX 6900 video cards lag more than three times behind the RTX 4090.

While this information may alarm many Internet users, ITPro cybersecurity experts warn not to panic. According to them, it is often impossible to hack accounts in online services through a search. Most online services pause between password attempts after a few errors or ask you to reset the password completely. Brute force only applies to offline authorization systems, according to ITPro.

At the same time, for people who are still worried about their account being hacked, experts recommended using special password managers that create PIN codes from 12 to 128 characters long. Even eight RTX 4090s could take years to crack such combinations.
