The flagship Apple Mac Pro 2022 computer will feature the latest branded M2 Extreme processor, which is four times more powerful than the M2 Max. This was reported by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman in the latest issue of the Power On newsletter.

According to the journalist, Apple is developing a number of new computers that include the Mac Pro, versions of the MacBook Pro with 14- and 16-inch displays, and the Mac Mini. All devices will receive branded Apple processors.

Depending on the version, the MacBook Pro will get the M2 Pro and M2 Max processors, and the Mac mini will be ported to last year’s M2. Currently, the Mac mini remains the only Apple computer lineup to run on third-party processors. The mini series was last updated in 2018. This year’s model runs on an Intel Core i3 processor.

Gurman insists that the main version of the upcoming presentation will be the Mac Pro. Apple will release at least two versions of its flagship computers that will receive the new M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme processors. According to the journalist, they are two and four times more powerful than the M2 Max, respectively. The M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme will receive 76 and 152 graphics cores, as well as 24 and 48 computing cores.

Gürman does not specify the exact date of the announcement of all these devices, but claims that it will happen “in the coming months”.
