Google announced a change in the design and player of YouTube on all devices. This was reported by The Verge.

First of all, the YouTube player will be updated: when you rewind the video, an accurate preview will appear on the timeline. Thus, it will be easier for users to search for the desired moments in the video frame by frame.

It will also allow users to zoom in on videos by stretching the picture with their fingers, like photos in galleries. The function was named pinch-to-zoom. The Verge states that Google has previously tested this option among YouTube Premium subscribers.

The so-called dynamic color selection will also appear on YouTube. Thanks to this function, the color scheme of the program interface adapts to the dominant colors of the video. The dark theme in apps and the web version of video hosting will become even darker: if shades of gray were used before, they will now be completely black.

As The Verge wrote, Google began implementing all listed innovations on October 24. It is not reported whether it will appear for all users at once or if it will gradually spread from region to region.
