First real AMD Radeon RX 7900 images

The presentation of Radeon RX 7000 will take place on November 3. We know the Radeon RX 79000 will be the big star of the event, and thanks to a leak we’ve already been able to see the first real images of this new high-end graphics card and how it stacks up against the Radeon RX 6900 Size XT.

The Radeon RX 7900’s cooling system consists of three fans, just like the Radeon RX 6900 XT. There seems to be a small change in the fan blades which in the first they are a little thinneralthough in both graphics cards each fan adds up to a total 9 blades. Reducing their thickness makes sense, because it promotes the entry of air into the radiator.

And speaking of the cooler, it’s generally very similar to that of the Radeon RX 6900 XT, albeit slightly longer and thicker. The images also confirm other interesting details, such as a slight change in the design of the fans and the top case, the presence red PCB and the absence of a metal plate on the backalthough I imagine that these last two things will not be kept in the final version of the Radeon RX 7900 and that they will be exclusive to this prototype.

The side image also shows that the Radeon RX 7900 will have two 8-pin auxiliary power connectors, the same auxiliary power system that the Radeon RX 6900 XT has. This means that said graphics card will be able to draw a maximum of 375 watts of power (150 watts for each additional 8-pin power connector and 75 watts for the PCIe connector). The TBP of the Radeon RX 7900 will therefore be around 300 to 350 watts.

I remind you that AMD is preparing two versions of the Radeon RX 7900, the top model, which will be labeled “XTX”, and the lower version, which will be included in the high-end and which will use the “XT” badge. Radeon RX 7900 XTX will be available 12,288 shadersit will have a 384-bit bus, 24GB of GDDR6 memory at 18GHz, and an infinite cache (between 96MB and 192MB).

As for the Radeon RX 7900 XT, it will come with a configuration 10,752 shaders, It will have a 320-bit bus, integrate 20 GB of GDDR6 memory at 18 GHz and also have an infinite cache (between 80 and 160 MB). It will basically compete with the 16GB GeForce RTX 4080, and the XTX model will face the GeForce RTX 4090.
