There are also reports of Instagram crashes on Twitter as well as Downdetector. Many people are reporting losing access to their Instagram accounts and receiving suspension messages.
Instagram responded on Twitter by saying it acknowledged the issue and was investigating.

Instagram notifies users of account suspensions and also gives users the option to disagree with the decision. Instagram asks users to provide an email and phone number to initiate the verification process.
More than 7,500 users have reported the incident to DownDetector, but the outage is believed to affect a much larger number of users.
