Elon Musk’s Tesla plans to start mass production of Cybertruck electric cars by the end of 2023.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.

Last month, Tesla said it was working on getting its facility in Austin, Texas, ready to begin production of the new model. Moreover, “early production” of Cybertruck will begin in mid-2023.

“We are in the final stages of Cybertruck,” Musk said in a meeting with financial analysts.

Tesla did not respond to a request for comment.

The launch of the Cybertruck will put Tesla into one of the most profitable segments of the US electric vehicle market, competing with electric pickup trucks from Ford and Rivian Automotive, both of which have produced limited editions.

In January, Musk cited the lack of components as the reason for delaying the launch of Cybertruck to 2023.

As Ukrinform reported, on November 22, 2019, Tesla founder Elon Musk presented a new Cybertruck, whose body is made of steel used by SpaceX to make rockets. The car was originally announced as an armored car, but during the presentation it turned out that the side windows did not pass the test chosen by the manufacturers themselves.
