AT&T today announced the first kids’ tablet in partnership with Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite Kids Edition tablet has educational and entertainment programs and parental controls.
The tablet has an 8.7-inch display and is a baby version of the original Galaxy Tab A7 Lite released last year. The original tablet has 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and 8 and 2 megapixel main and front cameras respectively. The Kids version offers similar features except it adds a safety feature for kids’ safety, a tougher and more durable case, and a host of parental controls.
One of the new features is a usage report for parents that helps them monitor what their kids are viewing on the tablet. The rugged body of the tablet consists of a stand that can rotate 360 degrees and is made of durable metal. According to AT&T, the tablet also provides quick access to the Samsung Kids platform:
“Samsung Kids™ allows you to create a safe environment for your child to enjoy exploring and communicating with the world. Through family-friendly activities that entertain and encourage children to learn, grow and develop. Samsung Kidsä helps your child enjoy the digital world with confidence.”
In addition to allowing AT&T customers to use the Samsung Kids platform for free, AT&T partnered with the American Academy of Pediatrics to add AT&T ScreenReady to the digital resources on AT&T’s website and advise users on responsible use of digital devices. The tablet will be released on November 4, 2022 for $7 per month for 36 months. The total amount of contribution is about $ 250.
