Since the beginning of the Russian occupation, Oleksiy Mykhaylenko began to manufacture various technical devices on the orders of military personnel. As a multidisciplinary engineer and volunteer, he constantly finds opportunities to improve the equipment used by Ukrainian defenders. Another idea put into practice is simple night vision systems for front-end cars.

“There is nothing new here. This is a night vision system for cars. Anyone who understands electricity can install it. It consists of the simplest things: a monitor (for example, a car monitor for connecting additional cameras), a modern street surveillance camera attached to it. And then it remains to make a connection, using wires and connectors to connect all this via the cigarette lighter to the car’s on-board network” – Says Oleksii.

According to Oleksiy, with the help of such a device, you can drive at night with the light completely off, thanks to the camera.

“Of course the camera has an infrared light that is invisible to the naked eye but can be seen with other night vision devices. That is, for an enemy thermal imager or night vision device, the illumination beam of the camera is clearly visible. You are only invisible to the normal eye and normal optics. Therefore, it is important to clearly understand the limitations of using such a system. These systems work, they are effective if their capabilities are clearly understood. I’ve sent two dozen to the front, and a dozen has already been prepared.”– Says Oleksii.

These systems are especially important for vehicles involved in the evacuation of the wounded. And also cars that deliver ammunition and personnel without turning on the lights, so as not to attract unnecessary attention at night.

Assembling such a set is much cheaper than buying ready-made. The cost of such a system is about three thousand hryvnia.
