The Honor company is actively working on a new flagship line, the Honor Magic 5. Thanks to the insiders, we learned what to expect from the devices.
First of all, internet sources informed us that three devices will be shown at once: Honor Magic 5, Honor Magic 5 Pro and Honor Magic 5 Prestige Edition. All will receive a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1100 nits.
All three models have a single front camera – they will be able to take pictures with a resolution of 13 MP. The devices are based on Qualcomm’s top chip, the 2023 Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. At the same time, the RAM will be from 8 to 12 GB, and the permanent memory will be from 128 to 512 GB.
The differences start in the main cameras of the devices. So, the base Honor Magic 5 will be equipped with Sony IMX800, Sony IMX758 and OmniVision OV64B modules, while the Magic 5 Pro will receive Sony IMX878, OmniVision OV64B and Sony IMX516. The best Prestige Edition will be able to boast modules from Sony IMX989, Sony IMX758, Sony IMX516 and another no-name sensor from Sony.
The younger model will have a battery capacity of 5000 mAh (with 66 W fast charging support), while Honor Magic 5 Pro and Honor Magic 5 Prestige Edition will have 4800 mAh (100 W fast charging).
The line-up is expected to be announced in April 2023. The Magic 5 will start at $700, the Magic 5 Pro at $835 and the Magic 5 Prestige Edition at $1,115.
