Chuwidevice manufacturer of Chinese origin, announced the fourth generation of its mini-PC Core Boxwhich includes Intel Alder Lake processor technology along with Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 4.

The fourth generation Chuwi CoreBox has some dimensions 173 x 158 x 73 mm and its grey-black chassis is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy and polycarbonate (plastic). Its weight is approx 865 gramsso while it is not the lightest device in its category, apart from being rather bulky, its features are sufficient for light gaming, which of course covers all sorts of less demanding contexts such as the office.

Going deeper into the features, the new CoreBox uses a Intel Core i3-1215U as a processor, a model that has two high-performance cores and four efficient ones for a total of eight threads (two for each high-performance core and one for each efficient core). The integrated graphics processor is capable of supporting the latest generation APIs, DirectX 12 and Vulkan.

At the memory level, yes 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, so this front should offer better performance than other computers that use DDR4. On the other hand, 512GB PCIe SSD the built-in default for data storage can easily be replaced and the computer has a slot to support a 2.5-inch drive via the SATA 3 interface.

In terms of connectivity, we find a Thunderbolt 4 port, four USB Type-A 3.0, a 3.5 mm microphone jack, another 3.5 mm headphone jack, HDMI 2.0, an RJ45 port for gigabit Ethernet, DisplayPort and the obvious connection connector Power supply. For wireless connectivity, the AX201 module from Intel is available, which provides Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

Another characteristic of the fourth generation CoreBox is that it is capable of supporting three simultaneous displays running at 4K resolution and its power supply is 65 watts. The operating system is Windows 11, but due to the predominance of Intel components, it may be a Linux-friendly computer.

The fourth generation CoreBox can be purchased in Chuwi’s own store for a basic price of 448.18 euros. As usual with this type of equipment, of course we’re not dealing with a Core i9 accompanied by an RTX 4090, but if you know what you’re buying, it can be very useful. For those interested, the brand has also launched a device with a similar profile with AMD’s Ryzen technology.
