Finland plans to build a giant 300-megawatt hydrogen power plant in the city of Kokkola.

As Ukrinform reports, Yle provides information on this.

Even by European standards, the importance of the project is great. This is the largest project in the field of “green” hydrogen energy in Finland.

Flexens company from the Åland Islands takes care of the design. The amount of investment allowed is about 500 million euros.

Hydrogen will be used in the production of ammonia, which is used as a fuel in fertilizer production and ship engines.

The facility is expected to be commissioned in 2027.

Overall, several dozen hydrogen production plants are planned to be built in Finland.

Valery Bezus, head of Ukraine’s State Department for Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation, said that hydrogen exports will contribute to the strengthening of Ukraine’s economy and the EU’s energy security, as reported by Ukrinform.
