The initiative was launched by the “Ukrainian Witness” project. The aim is to convey the facts about the war in Ukraine to the Russians in the information gap. Facebook and Instagram are blocked on the territory of the occupying country, and Twitter is subject to strict censorship.
Not to mention the Russian media. At the same time, you can convey the truth through the Russian Wikipedia. On its pages, Ukrainian cities look bright and peaceful. To make sure of this, you can enter searches such as “Kharkiv Wikipedia”, “Severodonetsk Wikipedia”.
At the same time, the reality of Ukrainian cities due to Russian aggression is completely different. Our comfortable settlements, once inhabited by hundreds of thousands of people, were devastated and razed to the ground by the Russian invaders.
The purpose of the “Ukrainian Witness” initiative is to organize the pages of the Russian Wiki so that visitors can see what Ukraine looked like after a full-scale Russian invasion.
