There have been countless stories over the past few years detailing how the Apple Watch has saved lives. The spread of these incredible survival stories is not limited to one country, it spans several regions. The latest story comes from India, where an Apple Watch helped save an Indian teenager who fell into a 150-metre mountain pass. The teenager used the Apple Watch Series 7 to keep in touch with family and friends while in the valley.
Indian teenager Smith Meta reportedly fell into a ravine and couldn’t find his iPhone, but his Apple Watch came to the rescue. After the events, the teenager sent an e-mail to Apple CEO Tim Cook stating that the Apple Watch came to his rescue. A young man from Maharashtra visited Lonavala, 50 miles (~80 km) from Mumbai. He was hiking with three of his friends on a rainy day. The incident occurred when he rolled into a valley on his way back. A tree and stones saved him, but his ankle was broken. He was in a lot of pain and only had the Apple Watch with him.
Eventually, Merta was rescued by her friends and other people present. The teenager, who was taken to the hospital, went through the rehabilitation process and, accordingly, still uses a cane. In an emailed response, Apple CEO Tim Cook praised Murtha for telling her story.
