News coming to Google Maps

The first innovation to Google Maps is its integration with augmented reality. One of Maps’ integrations with other Google services is Live View, a preview of the soon-to-be-deprecated Street View. That’s Google’s purpose this view is integrated into Mapsand take advantage of data from other apps, such as Google Lens, to view aggregated information.

From next week, Live View can be enabled and the number of cities can be increased gradually when we travel to certain areas such as London, New York, Paris or San Francisco. when we were in one of them, a new camera icon will appear in the search bar.

The second innovation focuses on electric car owners. Google Maps has already shown charging stations, but somewhat sparingly. With the new update, Maps will highlight chargers with a power of 50 kW or moreso we know we’re headed towards a fast charger.

Same way, distinguish between plug types, to show us only stations with plugs compatible with our car. This functionality is now starting to arrive for both iOS and Android.

Finally, there are improvements in terms of accessibility. Maps will be indicated by the wheelchair icon if a business or place has an accessible listing.
