Security guards from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at the Richmond, Virginia airport, approached a man who was trying to board with a knife hidden inside a gamer’s laptop. The sharp object was strategically hidden inside equipment that was only discovered thanks to X-ray equipment that all passengers must pass through before boarding.
When the hardware was opened and the item was found hidden inside the laptop, he eventually confessed that the sharp object was his.
The man’s name and destination were not released by the TSA. Security said one of the officers noticed something unusual as the laptop passed through the car. When searching for a knife in a backpack and around the equipment, they nevertheless found it. However, when they managed to open the laptop, they discovered that there was a sharp object inside. He will now face federal civil liability and may pay a fine of up to $10,700, which is about R$57,000 at current quotations.
The value of the money a man must pay varies depending on the crime he is accused of. If it is listed in the most lenient of all, the fine will range from $390 to $2,200. Meanwhile, there is a second punishment that he can respond to, and that is “the usual artful concealment.” In this case, the amount of the fine is from 530 to 2200 US dollars. Finally, if he is in charge of an “extremely inventive cover-up”, the amount ranges from $5,300 to $10,700.

In some cases, the TSA uses passengers attempting to board with knives or penknives inside hollow books as an example. The transport security department did not say which of the three this passenger would be able to answer. In addition, it is not reported when the answer to the case will be submitted.
“After obtaining tools to disassemble the laptop, it was discovered that a double-edged sword was cunningly hidden in the bowels of the computer. It did a great job on the part of our officers who first identified the threat and then worked in partnership with the Metropolitan Airport Commission police,” said Robin “Chuck” Burke, Director of the TSA Federal Security Service.
The security service established that at the moment when the officers and policemen who were present at the airport approached him, the passenger said he didn’t know there was a knife inside the laptop.
