Ukrainian scouts conducted space radar reconnaissance in about 150 areas where Russian troops are located. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that this was possible thanks to the ICEYE satellite. Also through contracted access to the SAR satellite constellation database.

In general, about 2,600 pieces of military equipment were identified and approved thanks to the project. Intelligence was carried out in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, as well as in the territory of the Russian Federation and its allies. In particular: tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, helicopters, OTRK “Alexander”, SAM “S-300”, ZRGK “Pantsirt-S1”, radar, pontoon crossings, boats and tents in the presence of enemy units.

Data obtained with the help of a satellite made it possible to effectively determine the enemy’s hidden location in the forest stands, in any weather conditions and at night.‘, said the intelligence agency.

GUR MO also states that this is possible thanks to the cooperation with Serhiy Prytula’s charity. We will remind you that on July 18, volunteer Serhii Prytula announced the purchase of a one-year subscription to satellite data of the Finnish company ICEYE for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is reported that Ukraine will receive satellite images in a near real-time mode, which will reduce the intelligence acquisition time to several hours.

The advantages of such a solution include that the satellite is already in orbit and the images are instantly analyzed and used as intended. According to the agreement, the Ukrainian side receives both the satellite and access to the satellite constellation database. After the expiration of the period of paid access to the database, the specified satellite remains in the full possession of Ukraine until the end of its operation in orbit. Source
