Samsung plans to release a program that will help owners of equipment of the South Korean brand independently repair electronic devices at home. This was reported by The Verge.
Journalists learned about this from the company’s filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office. From the app it appears that the service is called Self-Healing Assistant. The company explains it like this: “application software for mobile phones” for independent repair and maintenance of smartphones, “smart” watches, tablets and headphones. In addition to the description, an app icon has been added to the app, which is a blue square with a gear and a wrench inside.
The Verge predicts that the app will include repair instructions for Samsung Galaxy series devices. The development of the Self-Healing Assistant is most likely the result of the iFixit collaboration with Samsung, which was announced in early 2022.
