Satellite Internet provider Starlink has increased its service costs for several countries. For Ukrainians, the price will increase from $ 60 (about 2.3 thousand hryvnia) per month to $ 75 (2.8 thousand hryvnia).
In other countries, the Starlink subscription has also become more expensive, and satellite Internet in Ukraine is still at the minimum tariff.
The update of the Ukrainian tariff is evidenced in the text of the letter Starlink sent to Ukrainian customers.
The monthly cost of the Starlink service will increase from $60 to $75. The new price will apply to your subscription from 12/29/2022. If you do not wish to continue using the Service, you can cancel your subscription at any time, – says message.

What were the tariffs before the price increase?
Until August 2, the tariff for Ukraine was $100, but on Ukraine’s Independence Day, Elon Musk’s company announced its discount. Now the tariff has been raised again as part of the worldwide price review.
Ukrainian users react to the tariff update with humor: they offer to “reduce” the price to $ 30 with the help of conversations with Musk on Twitter. Note that this is a reference to the previous success of author Stephen King’s twitter dispute with Musk, as a result of which Musk “cut” the cost of a Twitter subscription from $20 to $8.
Why is Starlink important for Ukrainians?
The Starlink is an important front line communication tool that allows the military to gain an advantage over the outnumbered enemy forces. But the terminals are used not only by defenders, but also by emergency services, operators, journalists and ordinary Ukrainians. Ukrainians especially felt the benefits of “cosmic” communication during power outages and blackouts.
