Xiaomi is preparing a box in barebone format and a mini-PC of the Intel NUC type

Through the Weibo website, it appears to be two computers Xiaomi It intends to launch, although one of these computers, at least for now, is just a barebones case with a power supply, while the other is apparently a complete PC with a shape reminiscent of Intel NUCs when they were small, because the 13 Extreme model is much bulkier.

The barebones format box has a name Xiaomi Host Mini PC And it seems nothing inside but a custom XM22AL5X 100 watt power supply. The chassis design is quite noticeable and includes at least two dedicated graphics card slots, but due to the modest power supply and case size, said graphics cards should be low profile and medium height.

Another aspect to mention about the Xiaomi Host Mini PC is that it doesn’t appear to have ventilation on the sides and front, although that doesn’t rule out the possibility that it has breathing room at the top and/or bottom. It has room for two 80 or 90 millimeter fans at the back and should have enough space to fit a mini-ITX motherboard. An interesting detail is that the power supply screen shows the super+M (or Windows+M) key combination, which in Windows is a shortcut to minimize all windows, but can be used on the barebones to perform some other action.

There is on the other side mini PC type Intel NUCwhich apparently does not yet have a defined name and uses a as a processor AMD Ryzen 7 6800H with integrated Radeon 680M graphics. Diving into the details, the said CPU model has eight physical cores, sixteen threads, a base operating speed of 3.2 GHz, a maximum frequency of 4.7 GHz, 4 MB of level 2 cache, 16 MB of level 3 cache and a TDP of 45 watts.

In terms of memory, the mini-PC from Xiaomi is similar to the Intel NUC 16GB of RAM along with a 512GB SSD for data storage. The price is 3,999 yuan, which directly converted would be about 541 euros. If it is officially launched in Spain or the European Union, the price will almost certainly increase.

As we can see, the two leaked teams that Xiaomi intends to launch could not be more different. Of the two, the Intel NUC-like mini-PC seems to be interesting, but we will have to see how the company solved the issue of ventilation, an aspect that becomes critical when a lot of performance is introduced in a small space. .

We remember that although Xiaomi is mainly known for the production and marketing of Android smartphones (with its customization layer), Xiaomi entered the x86 device market a long time ago, even in the notebook market. playing games.
