With constant work over the years, Amazon has succeeded in turning re:Invent into a must-have space for professionals related in one way or another to the cloud, as all sorts of sessions and meetings take place over five days (from November 28 to December 2). The cloud is a fundamental and necessary element in the world of data, both for its storage and for the computing operations associated with it. We have more and more data sources, both internal and external, which is a great advantage… but also a significant challenge as administrators and officials face the complex work of managing said sources.

And it is data management that has become, although it does not seem like it, one of the most complex tasks, because it requires the location and documentation of all data sources, control of access to them, adaptation to management and compliance with regulations. each organization’s policies and regulatory frameworks… and crucially, the larger the volume of useful data, which is desirable, the more complex it is to manage.

He introduced AWS to facilitate these tasks Amazon Data Zone, a data management service designed to help administrators manage collections with data stored in AWS, on-premises, and third-party sources. With this new service, the management of access rights is significantly simplified, while the administrator maintains absolute overview of his catalog, allowing it to be used to the maximum without jeopardizing the security policies related to each of the resources.

AWS Clean Spaces

We are still talking about data, but now in a more complex scenario: sharing between different companies and institutions in joint projects, something that has been a trend for some time and will only increase in the future. And it is cooperation, whether between two or more parties, that is an exceptional mechanism for achieving better results.

The problem is that due to competitiveness, compliance and/or regulation of the data to be shared, these types of operations are usually quite complex. And not so much because of the knowledge we can have about what can be shared and which data must always remain in custody, which we can easily do thanks to solutions like DataZone, but because of the technological tools that allow us to make it completely safe and controlled .

With this need in mind, Amazon introduced AWS Clean Spaces, an analytics service that allows you to create a clean room (space) in which you have absolute control over the data that is shared. Thanks to them, we can avoid sharing or disclosing data associated with those we want to share accidentally. Once the room is created, we can choose exactly which digital assets to bring into it and set as many restrictions as needed. So when the other party enters the room, we’ll be sure that they don’t accidentally or intentionally access information that should remain out of their reach.
