Former Twitter employees Karolina Bernal Strifling and Willow Wren Türkal sued the company, accusing the new management, in the person of Elon Musk, of discriminating against women during the mass layoffs in November. This was stated in a lawsuit filed in a California court, reports Bloomberg.

The file states that Strifling and Turkal filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of female Twitter employees who were fired more often than male employees across the country.

American women are confident that these decisions of company management fall within the scope of gender discrimination. “Twitter’s mass layoffs affect more female employees than male employees”says the text of the case.

As evidence of Musk’s prejudice against women, the plaintiffs cited tweets posted in which the businessman joked about women’s breasts. “claimed that testosterone provokes”so what “promotes women with many children”.

According to a document filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, 57 percent of Twitter’s female employees lost their jobs in November, compared to just 47 percent of men. Strifling and Turkal say the cuts are also causing a “big difference” in the ratio of men to women in the company’s departments.

Strifling has been running on Twitter since June 2015 and Turkal since June 2021.
