In the popular Geekbench benchmark, the results of testing the new version of the yet unannounced Apple M2 Max processor have emerged. This has been reported by AppleInsider.
So, it turns out that in single-core mode, the M2 Max scores 2027 points, and in multi-core mode – 14888 points. For comparison: the processor of the previous generation – M1 Max – scores 1787 points in the specified benchmark in single-core mode and 12826 points in multi-core mode.
According to AppleInsider, this is the second Geekbench leak of the M2 Max. For the first time, Apple’s new processor showed 1,853 and 13,855 points, respectively, in single-core and multi-core modes in the benchmark.
The authors of the post attribute the M2 Max’s progress in Geekbench to Apple testing different versions of the processor at different times.
The first device based on the M2 Max is expected to be the Mac Studio computer. According to rumors, the launch of the new product is scheduled for the first half of 2023.
