After a delayed launch, Xiaomi has recently announced its flagship smartphone for next year, the Xiaomi 13 series, which includes two models, the Xiaomi 13 and the 13 Pro. Although the smartphones are launched in the Chinese market, the company is gearing up to launch these new phones globally and CEO Lei Jun also announced the global launch of the Xiaomi 13 series.
Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s co-founder and CEO, revealed in a tweet that the company is currently preparing to launch the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones in four international markets. However, the names of the regions and the launch dates have not been announced yet.
Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are equipped with an AMOLED display, a built-in fingerprint scanner and a punch-hole cutout in the middle. The devices offer 120 Hz refresh rate, 1900 nits maximum brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG support. The Xiaomi 13 has a 6.36-inch flat screen with FHD+ resolution, while the 13 Pro model has a 6.73-inch QHD+ display with curved edges.
Under the hood, both devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The phones have a liquid-cooled heat dissipation system, as well as a Surge G1 charge protection chip.
In the camera department, the standard model features a 50MP Sony IMX800 sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens. The Pro model, on the other hand, has a 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 prime lens paired with a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP telephoto lens. Both smartphones are equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
The phones, which have an IP68 water and dust resistance rating and Dolby Atomos support for stereo speakers, run the Android 13 operating system with built-in MIUI. Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are equipped with 4500 mAh and 4820 mAh batteries that support 67 W and 120 W wired charging, respectively.
