Funded by Kickstarter, Volla Phone 22 will have the option of Android-based Volla OS or Ubuntu Touch Linux mobile distribution. It also allows you to install multiple operating systems and choose which one to run at startup.

Volla Phone 22 is a smartphone with a 6.3 inch FHD+ display, MediaTek Helio G85 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Unlike many modern phones, it is equipped with a removable battery, 3.5mm audio jack and microSD card reader.

This is Volla’s third phone. Equipped with MediaTek Helio P23 processors and 64GB of memory, it has a faster processor and twice the memory than the original Volla Phone and Volla Phone X.

There is no Google Play Store because this phone is designed for those who want to minimize the tracking of big tech companies. Other Google apps and services are also excluded, such as Chrome, Google Maps, Google Drive, and Gmail, unless you choose to install the apps yourself.

Volla plans to start shipping the phone in June 2022. Prices start at $408 for Kickstarter supporters and $430 for everyone else.
