Apple may cancel the launch of the new iPhone SE series smartphone. This was reported by MacRumors.

In the report, insider Ming-Chi Ko said that the company is considering the need to launch the fourth-generation iPhone SE. It was previously reported that the new device should be released in 2023. According to insider information, Apple has taken care of declining demand for low-cost phones, so they can either delay production of the device or cancel its launch altogether.

The expert said that the release of the fourth generation iPhone SE was interrupted mainly due to the increased cost of production of the model. In the next generation, the company plans to switch to a new “one-brow” design that will require additional costs. Ming-Chi Ko noted that the optimization, in which Apple will cancel the production of a number of gadgets, will help the company more easily cope with the problems of the global economic crisis in 2023.

Journalists recalled that the iPhone SE 4 should have a 6.1-inch display with screen cutouts, a new chip, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor or a Face ID biometric sensor built into the side button.

The original iPhone SE was released in 2016. Apple introduced the second and third generation devices in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
