More and more electric cars are driving on our roads. Yes, and domestic car factories are planning to establish mass production of “green” cars in the near future. However, for an ordinary motorist, life with an environmentally friendly “iron horse” promises many difficulties. Only the lazy did not write about the fact that with the onset of cold weather, any “electric train” has a reduced power reserve. Here I remember LADA Ellada with Chinese “stuffing”, which I tested several years ago. In ten degrees of frost, her mileage melted before our eyes, so we had to turn off the “heater”, radio and headlights. The journey was nerve wracking. Incidentally, Tesla is also quickly discharged. If a car can drive about 400 km in the summer, then in the winter – 250 km.

As for the charging infrastructure, even in Moscow there is not enough of it. And getting to the console is a quest. You need to park in a swept parking lot, remove the “column” of dirty snow, and only then connect the cable. The work is not pleasant. By the way, that’s why you need to carry a shovel in an electric car.

But that is not everything. We will have to wait until the traction battery is filled with energy, and this will take 30-40 minutes. Where to warm up? Just hop around in the car or go for a coffee. But in an hour you can ingest so much caffeine that your blood pressure will skyrocket.

The fact is that the traction batteries of the vast majority of cars are located under the bottom. It is worth calling a swept yard, since a passenger car sits on its “belly”. And since the “battery” is wide, you can move the car from one place only with a tractor.

By the way, the power cables of many electric cars are open to all winds. When they try to get out of the snow captivity, they can get damaged. Do not forget about the plastic bumpers, which split perfectly on the compacted snow. In general, there is nothing for it but to get hold of the already mentioned shovel.
