The story continues with the horizontal lines that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max owners see on their smartphone screens. According to Apple’s official position, this problem is not hardware, so everything with the screen is fine. The reason lies in the iOS operating system.
One of the users writes: “I took the smartphone to Apple, they diagnosed it and said that everything is fine. The technician said there was nothing wrong with the hardware. The reason is in the software. Apple used the serial number (to do remote tests) and confirmed it wasn’t a hardware issue.”
An Apple support representative said: “We’re aware of this issue and it’s driver related. It’s definitely a software issue and an update is expected soon.”
Until the update is released, the following methods are helping some users:
- Disable Always On Display
- Manually lock the screen
- Reset the phone to factory settings
Some think the issue only affects iPhones with LG displays.
