Apple will transfer some of its premium iPhone production from China to Vietnam. This is reported in the current TrendForce report.

Experts learned that the forecast for the supply of iPhone 14 series smartphones in 2022 has dropped to 78.1 million devices due to the quarantine in China. Meanwhile, Apple decided to diversify the production of Pro models, depriving Foxconn of its status as the sole gadget manufacturer. As TrendForce learned, the company will transfer some of its iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max orders to Luxshare.

Analysts noted that Luxshare has a factory for the production of iPhone accessories in Vietnam and a production line for the production of smartphones in China. To reduce reliance on Chinese production, Apple will need to stop relying on local partners and consider factories in other Asian countries.

According to experts, Apple needs to concentrate around 30-35 percent of its capacities outside of China to ensure an uninterrupted supply of premium smartphones to the North American market.
