Bringing the fiber optic internet infrastructure together with its users in 81 provinces of Turkey, Türk Telekom covered more than 400,000 kilometers across the country during the night of December 31, 2022 to 2023.

TRABZON (IGFA)- Ümit Önal, CEO of Türk Telekom, entering the new year in Trabzon with his field teams working on fiber transformation, stated that as the leader of Turkey’s digital transformation, they are working non-stop with extremely high motivation and dedication.

With the works carried out in Coşandere village in Maçka district of Trabzon, the length of Türk Telekom’s fiber optic network has reached 400,000 kilometers. Türk Telekom is working to equip Turkey’s 81 provinces, districts and villages with end-to-end fiber and has increased the fiber rate to 92 percent in Trabzon, where field teams are continuing their fiber infrastructure uninterrupted despite the difficult geographic conditions unique to the Black Sea region.

Türk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal welcomed the new year by visiting the teams working at the fiber conversion site in Coşandere Village.

By increasing the fiberization rate of Turkey’s infrastructure thanks to the investments; Ünal said they are preparing the country for the “century of Turkey” and said: “We are bringing 1000 Mbps fiber optic internet together with our customers, not in one city, but in every city of the country.”

Önal stated that Türk Telekom is the fiber optic power digitizing Turkey end-to-end and said, “We are working non-stop to build the infrastructure that will support new generation technologies for the development of our country and industry. Today we stand shoulder to shoulder in Trabzon with our field workers who are constantly improving our people’s internet access. I am very happy to celebrate the New Year with our field teams continuing their work in all conditions, with a sense of national responsibility, and that the length of our fiber network has exceeded 400 thousand kilometers.
