Acer introduces Ryzen 7000 in new Nitro and Swift notebooks

Acer has unveiled a trio of notebooks that will feature the Ryzen 7000 Mobile processors that AMD introduced at CES. These are the Acer Nitro 16, Nitro 17 and the new Swift Go 14 model.

Like all manufacturers, Acer deployed an important renewal of its catalog in Las Vegas, especially the notebooks that are currently on the way star of the fair. If the Taiwanese brand has already presented its offer with the 13th generation Intel Core, headed by the Predator series, it is now announcing other models under the AMD platform.

Acer Nitro 16 and Nitro 17

With regard to gaming, although it can be used for any computing task, the first model is a laptop 16 inch screen which can be fitted with WUXGA or WQXGA resolution panels. It supports 100% of the sRGB color gamut and offers a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

The second model is very similar in design, but increases the screen size to 17.3 inches with panels to choose between FHD with a 144Hz or 165Hz refresh rate or QHD with a 165Hz refresh rate.

Its hardware base is mentioned with processors of the new generation of AMD notebooks. At CES, they are accompanied by another novelty, the NVIDIA RTX Series 40 Mobile graphics cards, which work together with AMD’s integrated graphics card through the Advanced Optimus function. The two new Acer Nitros feature up to 32GB of DDR5 memory clocked at 4800MHz and up to 2TB of storage with M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSDs.

The the cooling system It has been upgraded with two fans, four vents strategically placed on the sides and back, with a top air intake and liquid metal thermal paste to improve cooling. They also come pre-installed with NitroSense software and a NitroSense dongle so users can monitor their systems temperature and easily manage device performance settings.

They have a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard, a generously sized touchpad and a whole range of connection options with an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card reader, USB 2.0, USB4, a USB3.2 Gen 2 Type-C display port with Power Delivery support and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one of which enables offline charging. They also have an Intel Killer LAN E2600G network card and are compatible with Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E. They have two speakers with DTS: X Ultra and a web camera.

Acer SwiftGo 14

It is an ultralight that stands out for its thin (14.9 mm) and light aluminum chassis weighing less than 1.3 kg. mount the screen 14-inch OLED with a native resolution of 2.8K (2880 x 1800 pixels) with TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certification, peak brightness of 500 nits, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.

You can equip up to 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and 2TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD based storage. Despite its ultra-slim design, the Swift Go 14 offers a full selection of ports: USB Type-C, HDMI 2.1, a MicroSD card reader, a 1440p webcam and support for the latest version of the Wi-Fi 6E standard. According to the manufacturer, its autonomy increases to 9.5 hours.

Price and availability

  • The Acer Nitro 16 (AN16-41) will be available in Spain from May starting at 1,499 euros.
  • The Acer Nitro 17 (AN17-41) will be available in Spain from May starting at 1,599 euros.
  • Acer Swift Go 14 (SFG14-42) will be available in Spain from April starting at 999 euros.
