We first heard about this game in 2021, and soon after everything related to its development ended up being shrouded in a very strict secret. Rumors of a cancellation began to appear, but in the end they did not come true and now we know both the release date and the requirements that The Day Before will have.
First of all, it is important to be clear that The Day Before will not be a game of generational change, and that It will only be released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. This is good news, as it means that the said game will not have to rely on the limitations imposed by the old generation of consoles on a hardware level.
The requirements for The Day Before are quite low for a current-gen exclusive game, but they are realistic it’s the Xbox Series S, which indicates the basic hardware for the development of this game. Still, it’s important to note that these requirements only apply to 1080p, and you’ll need much more powerful hardware to play optimally at higher resolutions.
On the other hand, NVIDIA has confirmed that it will support The Day Before ray tracing applied to reflections, lighting, and ambient occlusion, and it will be compatible with NVIDIA DLSS 3 technology, which means it will take advantage of both DLSS Super Resolution and image generation. The first of them intelligently rescales and rebuilds the image to a given resolution from a lower resolution, and the second creates a GPU-only image from two traditionally rendered images.
The Day Before enters the market March 1 of this year.
