Yesterday we told you that the big protagonists of Razer at this CES 2023 were undoubtedly the new Blade 16 and Blade 18 laptops, two systems designed for the majority of gamers and therefore equipped with state-of-the-art components that provide excellent performance.
In addition, we’ve also learned the debut date of the much-anticipated Razer Edge we told you about a while ago, which will finally hit stores (for now, at least in the United States) on January 26th. WiFi and WiFi+5G versions with prices starting at $399.99. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it goes on sale exactly on my birthday, the problem is that I’m an ocean away from being able to gift it to myself on such an important date.
However, although notebooks and portable consoles grabbed the vast majority of headlines, the truth is that Razer also introduced three other quite interesting products, which we will remind you here and now. And I can already tell you that at least two of them will definitely be interesting.
We have to start from the foundation of the emphasis we are talking about concepts, i.e. from leaving the company’s R&D department, not from formal product design. In other words, it may end up reaching the market exactly as it was presented, it may do so with a difference, or at worst it may not reach it. This last option would be a great shame, yes, because it seems like a brilliant idea if it finally materializes.
At first glance, it looks like just a headrest, but in fact it is much more, as it integrates a complete 7.1 surround sound system based on near surround sound technology. Do you think it could be better? Well, yes, and it’s because in addition to sound, it also provides haptic feedback by processing the sounds it emits in real time and generating a coordinated motion response with them.
This pillow connects to the computer completely wirelessly via the 2.4 GHz band and integrates a battery capable of providing autonomy of up to eight hours. Thanks to its adjustable design, it could also be used on almost any gaming chair. More information can be found at this link.
Once again, we are facing a device that is more than meets the eye. What appears to the naked eye is obvious, of course, a PC soundbar. In this regard, both THX and Audioscenic executives participated in its design, which allows us to easily conclude that its main goal is to provide the most immersive experience possible with a device of this type.
Now why do I say it’s more than meets the eye? Because Razer has once again decided to go one step further by integrating a system based on an infrared camera into this Leviathan V2 Pro, which, combined with an AI algorithm, determines the user’s position at all times in order to orientate. exit sign towards it. In this way, the sound bar dynamically adapts to the user’s position and not the other way around, as is usually the case.
More information on the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro can be found at this link. It will be available from January 2023 at a price of 489.99 euros.
Some manufacturers (thankfully not many) have a habit of measuring the quality of their cameras by the total megapixels of their sensors. It is of course true that a higher number of megapixels means of course a higher resolution of the images taken, but the real quality of the photo is determined by other aspects, such as the quality and size of the sensor used to take the shots. Too small a high-resolution sensor will in most cases provide images of more than questionable quality.
At Razer, they are very aware of this and that is why they have introduced this Kiyo Pro Ultra, a webcam, inside which we find a 1/1.2 inch Sony STARVIS 2 sensor with a pixel size of 2.9 μm, which will give us the capture of light and data similar to those provided by DSLR cameras. It is also accompanied by an optical section with the number f/1.7, which will provide well-lit images even in low-light conditions.
