The American company SpaceX plans to launch another large batch of Internet satellites from its rival, the communications company OneWeb.
This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to Space.com.
As noted, the Falcon 9 rocket with 40 OneWeb broadband satellites is scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 23:50 local time on Monday (January 10, 6:50 Kyiv time).
The broadcast will begin approximately 15 minutes before the launch.
If all goes according to plan, Falcon 9’s first stage will return to Earth about eight minutes after launch.
OneWeb is building a network of 648 satellites that will provide Internet services to customers around the world. The London-based company has already launched 502 satellites using Russian Soyuz rockets, mostly operated by the French company Arianespace.
After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, OneWeb signed launch agreements with SpaceX and NewSpace India Limited, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation.
