California-based startup ABL Space Systems performed the first launch of the RS1 launch vehicle with two satellites, but failed due to an anomaly in the rocket.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by CNN.

“This was the outcome we were prepared for today, not what we expected. We will announce when additional information becomes available,” he said.

It was noted that the launch vehicle with two satellites on board was launched from the cosmodrome in Alaska on Wednesday, January 11 at 00:27 Kyiv time. However, due to an anomaly on the ship, it crashed near the coast of the American state in the northwest of the USA.

The task was to launch two small satellites into orbit for the OmniTeq company. The company has signed an agreement to launch ABL for the first time in 2021, while still operating under the name L2 Aerospace.

According to Space.com, this was the first official launch of a launch vehicle for ABL Space Systems.

As Ukrinform reported, Virgin Orbit company launched the first spacecraft launched into orbit from the territory of Great Britain, but failed due to a rocket anomaly.
