An international team of experts from Egypt and Great Britain found an ancient pharaoh’s tomb built around 3000 years ago in Luxor. This is reported on the website of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Regular archaeological research is conducted in the city of Luxor, located on the west bank of the Nile, 650 kilometers south of Cairo, and as a result, various monuments, temples and tombs from the pharaonic period are discovered.

Mostafa Waziri, general secretary of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said the discovered tomb could belong to the 18th dynasty of Egyptian pharaohs, who ruled from 1550/1549 BC to 1292 BC. Scientists assume that the building was designed for the wife or daughter of the pharaoh. This hypothesis is scheduled to be tested in the future after documentation on the object is received. Archaeological studies will continue.

The tomb is poorly preserved – in the past, the paintings on it were damaged by flooding.
