By 2027, one out of every two iPhones from the American Apple will be produced in India. This was reported by the South China Morning Post, citing analyst Luke Lin.

“The forecast is more ambitious than JPMorgan’s previous forecast that India will produce 25% of all iPhones worldwide by 2025, but is in line with India’s rapidly growing share of iPhone shipments.”the article says.

SCMP noted that iPhone shipments to India doubled from April to December 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. At the same time, Vietnam’s share in the production of MacBook laptops and wireless AirPods for Apple is expected to increase, as contractors, including Chinese, are in a hurry to open factories there.

According to the publication, Apple has historically worked very closely with Chinese suppliers to meet quality standards.

“Apple has been working with or developing its Chinese suppliers for many years. The key question is how long Indian suppliers can meet these standards. Losing such a desire for excellence can lead to the degradation of standards.”said Alan Day, a British supply chain consultant.
