News VOD 03/23: ‘JUNG_E’, emotional intelligence for artificial combat

VOD news brings you the best news of the week on Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+… And this week is a little bit of everything, as they usually say, with nothing that stands out too much, but with JUNG_E as a prominent feature because there must be at least one.

Netflix

We’re kicking off our Netflix review with a lot of things coming out this week, some of which are getting a good amount of media coverage, such as That show from the 90s. Here, however, we are going in different directions.

JUNG_E

The first of these paths is the one mentioned above JUNG_Escience fiction film written and directed by Yeon Sang-ho, a Korean filmmaker best known for the remarkable Train to Busanbut also because of its lack of continuation Peninsula. In addition, he has already worked with Netflix on a series that is interesting but irregular heading to hell.

Now, Sang-ho is returning to the feature film format, but he’s doing so without leaving Netflix JUNG_E, a sci-fi story with a touch of action and existentialist drama, in a quasi-apocalyptic future scenario, and its axis is artificial intelligence, which is in vogue. And while it doesn’t seem to be a work with which the Korean filmmaker tracks his career, it is one of the freshest of the week.

Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre

This adaptation in an anthology format brings more Asian content, in this case Japanese, but also from a well-known and established author such as Junji Ito. Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre It’s a horror anime series, but not the conventional kind… though it’s not the most extreme either. Be that as it may, you deserve a chance to watch it.

The Legend of Vox Machina

The Legend of Vox Machina is back for its second season after a surprising year last year, and ranks among the most refreshing adult animated series on the scene. No, this is not another repeat of the typical crappy cartoon comedy and pseudo social critique; This is a fantastic adult-only RPG that will hopefully maintain the level shown in the first batch of chapters.
