Apple has released a new version of iOS 16: what is interesting in the operating system for the iPhone?

Channel 24 has collected the most interesting innovations of the new version of iOS. Owners of iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone SE (2020) and newer versions of Apple smartphones will be able to install it.

What’s new in iOS 16.3

  • Support for Apple ID security keys. In addition to receiving 2FA and SMS codes, you can now protect your Apple ID by connecting an external FIDO-approved physical security key.
  • iCloud data protection. Introduced in iOS 16.2 for the US, the feature is now available worldwide. This way, even more of your personal data stored in iCloud will be protected with end-to-end encryption. It now covers 23 categories of information.
  • HomePod 2 support. Apple recently introduced the second generation HomePod – this speaker is only fully compatible with iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3 and macOS 13.2.
  • new wallpapers. Apple has added a “Unity” themed wallpaper. A similar watch face is also available for the Apple Watch.
  • Changes in SOS studies. In iOS 16.3, the working principle of the recovery service call has changed. Now, if you hold the Power button and wait for the countdown to complete, the call will not start as long as you hold the button. It was also possible to mute the countdown.
  • Font settings in “Books”. In the Books app, you can now quickly revert to the original font without having to reset the entire design theme.
  • Teams. Now when you create a quick command, you will see a new type of “Variables” list. It expands and allows you to quickly select the item you want.

What has been fixed?

  • Fixed an issue where some strokes and lines in Freeform could not be displayed in the general clipboard.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the user to see a black background instead of wallpaper on the lock screen.
  • Fixed bug with blinking green and yellow bars on iPhone 14 Pro.
  • Fixed a bug that caused horizontal lines to appear on the iPhone 14 Pro Max screen when waking from sleep mode.
  • Fixed a bug with the “Home” widget on the lock screen – it now shows the correct app status data.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Siri to not understand music requests.
  • Fixed an issue where Siri did not understand voice commands correctly in CarPlay.
