Suzuki will begin production of compact battery electric vehicles for commercial use in Japan in the fiscal year starting in April.
These will be the company’s first electric cars.
In addition, the automaker plans to expand the lineup to include compact SUVs and small passenger cars, and will launch a total of six models by fiscal 2030.
The company will also start selling battery electric vehicles in Europe in the 2024 fiscal year. It will offer five models by fiscal 2030, adding SUVs and subcompact B-class electric vehicles.
In addition, the automaker will begin selling battery electric vehicles in India in fiscal 2024, expanding its product range to six models by fiscal 2030.
