Acer has introduced three new TravelMate series laptops. They are intended especially for educationalthough they can still serve users who are looking for mobile equipment with basic features but at a very affordable price.
The new Acer TravelMates come with Windows 11 pre-installed and are designed to help improve student learning and increase productivity in the classroom and at home. They use the new Intel N processors announced at CES to fill the gap left by the discontinued Celeron and Pentium solutions. We review the three announced models:
Acer TravelMate B15 14
It’s a laptop with a screen 14 inchesFHD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and new software User Sensing from Acer, which includes a range of technologies to help reduce eye fatigue and ensure data security. It is powered by a processor Core i3-N305the most powerful of this series from Intel with 8 cores and Intel UHD GPU with 32 execution units.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E support, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and an additional HDR camera with shutter and dual digital microphones that use Acer AI Noise Reduction technology to suppress all background noise during video calls.
Acer TravelMate B3 Spin 11
Yippee convertible with a hinge system that allows the screen to rotate up to 360 degrees and facilitates different modes of use (laptop, tablet…) in a single device. The screen is an 11.6-inch touchscreen with FHD resolution, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and interesting options such as the Wacom AES stylus.
Acer TravelMate B3 11
A portable variant of the above holders a 11.6 inch display and also uses Intel N processors. Like the above, they meet US military standard MIL-STD 810H with a design with a reinforced bumper for shock absorption and other durable components such as reinforced I/O ports and spill-resistant keyboards. They also promote sustainability by using recycled materials for their OceanGlass touch panels and packaging and are EPEAT and TCO certified.
On the other hand, schools can simplify and speed up implementation and management through Microsoft’s unified cloud management tools and Windows 11, in addition to integrating software and hardware security features into these new models.
