Nicholas Sutrich, editor of the Android Central portal, said that the voice control button on the flagship Google Pixel 7 Pro smartphone “dropped” by itself. It turned out that other owners of the device were also complaining about this problem.
As Sutrich points out, he carried his smartphone without a case, but at the same time never dropped it and always treated it with care. Moreover, since it was a spare smartphone, he rarely used it. However, when he took the Pixel 7 Pro out of his pocket, he noticed that the volume button had fallen.
Google offered Sutrich to replace the device under warranty and attributed the problem to misuse of the gadget. The journalist did not replace the smartphone and did not put the button in its place, but after that, with each press, he discovered a crackling sound that was not like this before. At the same time, after the repair, the button may fall off again and you do not need to make any special efforts for this.
Sutrich found numerous complaints about a similar issue on the internet.
“I went for a walk and took my phone out of my pocket to take a picture and realized there was no volume button. I have no idea what exactly it is or where the button is. I’ve only had the phone for three days”– says one of the victims.
