As he reported 24 ChannelsThe company decided to integrate artificial intelligence tools into the Opera browser, following the footsteps of technology giants Microsoft and Google. Recently, Microsoft introduced the updated Bing search and Edge browser with new artificial intelligence features.

Earlier last week, Google also showed off the AI-based Bard search bot, so Opera understands which direction it needs to move in order to remain a relevant tool.

A new feature of the Opera browser

Per Wetterdal, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem at Opera, said:

We’re excited to see the rapid deployment of apps for developers like Google Bard, and we’re starting to build and implement new web browsing capabilities that until recently seemed out of reach.

While the “shrink” feature isn’t available to the general public yet, Opera’s vice president of marketing and communications, Ian Stendel, said the feature will “come to browsers very soon.” The company is also working on other AI features aimed at “improving” the web browsing experience and plans to add “popular AI content services to its sidebar”.

Opera users will rejoice

The full extent of what this might mean for users is yet to be seen, but it’s clear that Opera is trying to improve the web browsing experience with its AI technology.

It’s worth noting that the feature looks really useful on paper, as it can potentially save users time by displaying the most relevant and important information, provided it works properly without bugs and crashes, of course.
