American astronaut and United24 ambassador Scott Kelly has urged SpaceX founder Elon Musk to return full access to the functional Starlink satellite internet to Ukraine, to which he replied “will not allow World War III.”

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to Kelly’s post. twitter.

“Ilon Musk, Ukraine desperately needs your continued support. Please restore full functionality to your Starlink satellites. Defense against genocidal occupation is not an offensive capability. It’s survival. Innocent lives will be lost. You can help. Thank you,” Kelly called to the American entrepreneur.

In response, Musk wrote that he “would not allow the escalation of the conflict that could lead to World War III.”

“You’re smart enough not to swallow media information and other propaganda bullshit. Starlink is Ukraine’s communications backbone, especially on the front lines where nearly all other Internet connections have been destroyed. But we will not allow the conflict to escalate in a way that could lead to World War III,” Musk wrote.

He added that SpaceX’s commercial terminals were designed for private use, not military use, but the company did not exercise its right to shut them down.

As Ukrinform reported, last week the American company SpaceX took measures to prevent the Ukrainian military from using Starlink satellite internet to control drones in the area during the war with Russia.

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that there are no problems with the operation of Starlink terminals in Ukraine, which provide stable Internet, “unbreakable points” to critical infrastructure, allowing Ukrainians to stay in touch with their relatives.
