US company Tesla is voluntarily recalling 362,758 electric cars and warns that experimental driver assistance software marketed as Full Self-Driving Beta (FSD Beta) could cause accidents.

As reported by Ukrinform, CNBC is reporting this.

These include the 2016-2023 Model S and Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y that are already equipped or waiting for the FSD Beta to be installed.

CEO Elon Musk has opposed the use of the term “recall” to describe security flaws or issues that can be fixed with software updates over the wireless Internet.

He tweeted on Thursday: “The word ‘cancel’ for over-the-air software updates is outdated and completely wrong!”

Tesla is said to have allowed thousands of electric car drivers to test new and incomplete assistance features on public roads in the US through the FSD Beta.

This technology does not make Tesla electric cars autonomous or safe to drive without a person at the wheel ready to brake or turn the steering wheel at any time.

Only Tesla owners with FSD’s world-class driver assistance system can participate in the FSD beta program. This US option currently costs $15,000 or $199 per month.

As reported by Ukrinform, in September of last year Tesla company recalled about 1.1 million cars in the US due to an issue with window regulators.
